Dr. Liu’s research areas include mammalian cell engineering, microorganism metabolic engineering and systems biology, and bioreactor process development. Specifically, her research projects focus on: 1) Next-generation bioenergy production by constructing a novel strain using systems biology; 2) Improvement of biopharmaceuticals production by cell engineering and integrated process development; 3) Biochemicals and bioenergy production from recycled carbon; 4) Novel therapy development to treat cancer.
Her research group is located in the SEC Building in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at The University of Alabama.
